Le maschere e il Giappone
The project explores the origins and evolution of the mask, from its ritual and spiritual function in ancient cultures to its role in theatre and its meaning in contemporary society. The research focuses in particular on Japanese masks, exploring legends, theatre and the use of masks by samurai warriors, translating these themes into a three-part oil painting.
