UOLLI (Tomas Marcuzzi) was born in 1978 in Udine, where he currently lives and works. After training as an advertising graphic designer, he quickly developed a passion for animation and directing, fields in which he has created a personal, dreamlike, and tactile visual language.
Over the years, he has directed numerous music videos for Italian and international artists such as Meg, Lo Stato Sociale, Brunori Sas, Populous, Dente, Yombe, Franco Battiato, Niccolò Fabi, BowLand, and many others, establishing himself as one of the most original directors in the independent music scene. In parallel, he has created advertising campaigns for major brands such as Bata, Moleskine, Illy, Trudi, and Banca di Credito Cooperativo, and has designed the visual identity—both graphic and video—for numerous cultural festivals including Pesaro Film Festival, Far East Film Festival, Sexto ‘Nplugged, Ypsigrock, and Trieste Film Festival. In 2012, in collaboration with Designwork studio, he created the official opening titles for the 69th Venice International Film Festival.
His naïve imagery and artisanal, material-based approach made him the subject of the Sky Arte program Artisti in fuga, dedicated to Italian artists working in Iceland, where he shot two music videos: one for Meg and one for Yombe. In 2024, the Pesaro Film Festival dedicated a complete retrospective of his music videos to him, cementing his work as one of the most significant visual experiences in the contemporary audiovisual scene.
