Dimitri Waltritsch studied at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura of Venice (He graduated in Architecture with high honors in 1992) and at the Berlage Institute of Amsterdam (Master of Excellence in Architecture in 1996). His Studio has been active since 2001, after a long period of studying and professional training in various European Countries and in Japan (de Architecten Cie Amsterdam, Renzo Piano Building Workshop Paris, Ashihara International Tokyo).

“waltritsch a+u | architetti urbanisti” deals with architecture, restoration, interior design and urban planning. Among the many projects we mention the Urban Implementation Plan for 1,000 new dwellings and services, CasaNova in Bolzano, the Urban Restructuring Plan of Giustiniano Imperatore district in Roma, the masterplan Star of Gazprom in Moscow, the KBcenter  cultural centre and the  Ugo Casiraghi Provincial Media Library  Gorizia, the Seat of the Cogeco Company in Trieste, the Endless summer Contemporary Pavilion at the 7th Mostra internazionale di Architettura – Biennale di Venezia, renovation and expansion of the Palasport Filiput in Ronchi dei Legionari.

Some ongoing projects are the masterplan The International Community of Jia Ding in Shanghai and the Seat of the Biblioteca Nazionale degli Studi Slovena inside Palazzo Trgovski Dom by architect. Max Fabiani in Gorizia. His projects and realizations have been published in books and magazines in Italy, China, Germany, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, France, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia the CZech Republic, India, Korea, Iran. Malaysia, Singapore. They have also been exhibited at the Architecture Biennale in Venice, at the Berlage Gallery in Amsterdam, the Den Haag City Hall, the Avary Hall of the Columbia University in New York, the World Congress of Architecture UIA 2011 held in Tokyo etc.

During the last 10 years Dimitri Waltritsch has been an adjunct professor of Architectonic Composition with the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Trieste and of Architectonic Planning for Urban Regeneration with the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ferrara. He belongs to the Scientific Committee of the Ente regionale per il patrimonio culturale of the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia – ERPAC e and of the Scientific Commettee of the European Rural Town Society. He has been a member of the Jury of the Österreicher Bauherren Preis, and of Innodesign France, of the Golden Creativity Award in Beijing and of the Inol Interior Design Award in Foshan. He held conferences at the Columbia University of New York and at the Berlage Institute of Amsterdam, Haus der Architektur of Graz and Klagenfurt, with the Biennale di Architettura of Venice, the Faculties of Architecture of the Universities of Trieste, Venice, Florence, Milan and Ferrara, at the Krost Institute of Moscow, the Feng Yu Zhu in Shanghai and the Global Design Meeting in Beijing.
